My Favorite Wedding Venues in the DeSoto County & Memphis Area

(A Photographer's Guide)

I want to be upfront with you before we dive in.

This is not a sponsored list. Nobody paid me to be here. These are the venues I have personally photographed weddings at, places I have stood inside on some of the most important days of people’s lives, with a camera in my hands and a front-row seat to how everything actually unfolds. All of them are worth your time.

As a wedding photographer based in Hernando, MS and serving the Mid-South: Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas. I get asked the same question more than almost any other: Where should we get married?

The honest answer is that the right venue for you is the one that feels like you when you walk through the door. But I also know that finding that place is overwhelming, and sometimes you just need someone to hand you a curated list and say, start here.

So here we are. Start here.

Kincaid Manor — Holly Springs, MS

If you have been scrolling venues for hours convinced that you cannot have beautiful and affordable, Kincaid Manor is about to change your entire perspective.

Situated west of Holly Springs, this indoor/outdoor venue has a charm that hits you the moment you pull in. The owners live on the property, and that matters more than you might think. You are not dealing with a faceless corporation or a coordinator juggling ten other events. These are warm, genuinely kind people who care about your day and it shows in every detail.

From a photography standpoint, what I love most is the proximity of it all. Multiple stunning photo spots are literally steps away from each other. A chapel with floor-to-ceiling windows pouring in natural light, a pond, mossy trails lined with trees, you can move through three or four completely different settings in a single wedding day without ever leaving the property. That is rare, and it matters enormously for your photo gallery.

Capacity is up to 150 guests, pricing ranges from $700 to $5,200 depending on your package, and they include an on-site Honeymoon Suite for the wedding night. Tables, chairs, linens, hundreds of decor pieces, even an antique getaway car are all part of the deal.

If you want charm, warmth, and a property that feels like it was built for beautiful photographs, this is your place.

Woodruff-Fontaine House — Memphis, TN

Some venues simply carry history in their walls. Woodruff-Fontaine doesn’t just carry it, it is it.

Built in 1870 and tucked inside Memphis’ historic Victorian Village, weddings have been held here since 1871. Let that settle in for a moment. Couples have been saying I do in this mansion for over 150 years.

What makes this venue truly unique is that there is nothing else quite like it in the Mid-South. Having photographed here, I can tell you, you cannot replicate this kind of history with rented decor or a fresh coat of paint. This French Victorian beauty, draped in ancient magnolia trees, brings an elegance to your wedding day that only time can build. The architecture does the work. The history does the work. You just have to show up.

Capacity is up to 200 guests. They work from a preferred caterer list, which keeps quality consistent and gives you a solid starting point.

If you are a bride who has always dreamed of something that feels genuinely timeless, not trendy, not temporary, this is where your story belongs.

The Cadre Building — Memphis, TN

There are brides who want sweeping fields and golden hour light, and there are brides who want to get married right in the heart of the city. If you are the second kind of bride, The Cadre is calling your name.

Situated right in the heart of Memphis, this historic venue is one of a kind. What sets it apart photographically is the ceremony space itself: a long, dramatic aisle leading to a staircase altar. I have stood at the back of that room and watched a bride begin that walk, and the images it creates are stunning. That kind of built-in drama is something you simply cannot manufacture, and it makes for photographs that stop people mid-scroll.

The Cadre has the kind of charm and sophisticated elegance that feels effortlessly editorial. Texture. Depth. Character. If you have ever pinned elegant, art-forward wedding photos and wondered where those couples were, now you know.

Wynnewood — Coldwater, MS

Twenty-five minutes from Memphis, tucked into 62 acres of lush Mississippi woodland, sits one of the most quietly stunning venues in the Mid-South.

Wynnewood is the kind of place you arrive at and exhale. It is a beautiful, expansive property with everything a couple could need and it is run by a genuinely great guy who has thought of every detail so you don’t have to.

They accommodate up to 200 guests, offer rental packages ranging from $3,400 to $7,950, and include tables, chairs, linens, and access to hundreds of decor pieces. On-site cottages turn your wedding weekend into a full experience, not just a single day.

Photographically, what makes Wynnewood exceptional is sheer abundance. Trees. Ponds. Open meadows. A canopy of oaks. You can walk in any direction and find something worth framing. For couples who want their portraits to feel like they stepped into a painting, this property delivers every single time.

Cypress Hall — Hernando, MS

Right here in our hometown, Hernando has been keeping a quiet gem and it is perfect for the bride with a vision.

Cypress Hall is a large, open building that gives creative couples a true blank canvas. If you love DIY, if you have a Pinterest board full of specific decor ideas, if you want to truly make a space your own, this is your venue. There is no competing aesthetic to work around. You bring the vision, and Cypress Hall gives you the room to execute it.

The outdoor ceremony space is genuinely gorgeous, looking out over an open field under a wide, open sky. That kind of ceremony backdrop, all that light, all that horizon, creates photographs that feel expansive and free in a way enclosed spaces simply cannot replicate.

For my Hernando and DeSoto County brides who want to stay local and have the freedom to design their day from the ground up, Cypress Hall is worth a serious look. Did I mention, they offer fireworks!?

Twin Oaks Manor Barn — Millington, TN

Twin Oaks holds a special place in my heart, it was the very first venue I worked at after moving to Mississippi. It made quite an impression.

Situated on a beautiful farm in Millington, TN, this venue is full of rustic character. The barn itself is stunning, all warm wood tones, beams overhead, and that classic country atmosphere that photographs so beautifully. One thing I want couples to know going in: the interior is dark, and I mean that as a compliment. The warmth of all that wood creates the most gorgeous, cozy, golden light in the reception photos. It is a different kind of beautiful than an open-air venue, and it is absolutely worth embracing.

Outside, there are multiple ceremony spaces and perhaps my favorite detail, there is horses on the property. If you have ever wanted equestrian portraits on your wedding day, you are in luck.

If your vision is rustic, warm, and full of character, Twin Oaks delivers.

Andover Plantation — Olive Branch, MS

I will be a little biased here and admit upfront, I live five minutes from Andover Plantation, and I just photographed my first wedding here. So this one is fresh on my heart.

Nestled on five wooded acres in Olive Branch, this English Manor Inn is surrounded by beautiful trees and lush greenery that feel like a natural cathedral around you. The property itself is stunning to move through with a camera, there is green everywhere you look, and the light filters through those trees in a way that feels almost intentional.

Outside, there is a beautiful staircase that leads down to the altar and watching a bride descend that staircase on her wedding day is something I will not forget anytime soon. It creates an entrance moment that is both intimate and dramatic, and the photos are extraordinary.

What I want to highlight just as much as the beauty is the family behind it. They are exceptionally organized, communicate with clarity and warmth, and genuinely care about every couple that comes through their doors. As a photographer, working with a venue team like that makes everything run smoother and that absolutely benefits you on your wedding day.

Andover is intimate, sophisticated, deeply Southern, and run by people who take their responsibility to your day seriously. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

A Note Before You Go

Every one of these venues tells a different story. That is the whole point.

The right venue for you is not the most expensive one, or the most popular one, or the one your best friend used. It is the one where you walk in, take a breath, and feel your own story somewhere in the walls.

When you find that place, trust it.

And when you are ready to have your wedding day documented with the kind of care and intention it deserves, I would love to be your photographer. You can reach me at magnoliagm.com/contact or give me a call at (901) 569-1535.

Your day is worth remembering beautifully.
